CITY CHIEF
2017 Bay Gelding
(Soldier of Fortune X Galant Ferns)
City Chief is a lovely, big horse with some very strong form to his name. The plan for him is to target the staying chases during the first half of the 2026/27 season. His current rating already gives him access to races at many of Britain’s premier racecourses, providing plenty of opportunities to compete on some of the biggest stages in the sport.
He is the type of horse that can provide immediate enjoyment for his owners, as he thrives on his racing and enjoys a busy campaign. Tough, genuine and consistent, he looks ideally suited to the staying chase programme throughout the season.
From 1st January, City Chief will also become eligible for the Veterans’ Chase Series, opening up an exciting range of opportunities during the second half of the campaign. With valuable prizes on offer and a programme tailored to experienced staying chasers, he has the potential to provide plenty of memorable days for his owners over the coming seasons.
SIR ARGUS
2017 Bay Gelding
(Soldier of Fortune X Oligarch Society)
Sir Argus has six months before he becomes eligible for the Veterans’ Chase Series, and with the added advantage of still being a novice over fences, he offers us a wealth of exciting opportunities in the first half of the season.
Only a year removed from contesting a Listed Novice Chase at Punchestown, he still has plenty of untapped potential and the scope to progress further. With a relatively light racing career behind him, there is every reason to believe his best days are still ahead, giving everyone involved the chance to enjoy the journey with a horse who could continue to improve and reward patience.
He appears versatile over both 2½ miles and 3 miles, which gives us the flexibility to place him where he can be most competitive and give his owners the best possible chance of success. With a wide-open programme book and plenty of suitable options, we can map out an exciting campaign designed to maximise both his development and his opportunities to win.
Sir Argus looks set to be a horse that owners can follow with real anticipation, offering the prospect of competitive racing, valuable prize money, and plenty of memorable days ahead throughout the season.
ISABELLA ISLAY
2022 Bay Filly
(Scalo X Definitelyanoscar)
Isabella Islay enjoyed an excellent season, running four times and improving with every start. She gained a deserved first victory at Hereford on her third outing before producing another highly creditable performance when finishing third at Newton Abbot in May, confirming both her consistency and continued progression.
As a lightly raced four-year-old, she has her entire racing career ahead of her and plenty of scope to develop further over hurdles. Being 100% GBB registered also opens the door to valuable bonuses and enhanced prize-money opportunities throughout her career.
She is an exciting young filly with a bright future, and the syndicate has the opportunity to enjoy her progression from this early stage. With natural improvement to come and an exciting programme of races ahead, Isabella Islay promises to provide plenty of memorable days and enjoyable experiences for all those involved.
